About the department
Discovery Technology China (DTC) is a research unit in Novo Nordisk Research Centre China and a fully integrated part of the Global Research (GR) in Denmark. Department of Molecular Biology is one of the DTC departments responsible for developing and providing state of the art molecular biology expertise and technology platforms in protein expression, protein engineering and molecular diversity generation to support R&D’s early discoveries.
The position
? Play a direct role in the discovery and development of protein and peptide therapeutics by in vitro display technologies such as ribosome display, mRNA display and DNA display
? Develop and optimize novel in vitro display technologies
? Construct and screen display libraries for therapeutic lead identification
? Design and generate molecular diversity for protein engineering towards desired properties
? Communicate clearly and frequently with colleagues on progress and provides risk mitigation if potential issues appear
? Present and defend own work at scientific meetings. Develop and maintain consistent publication record and external visibility.
Qualifications
? Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or relevant biological science
? 2+ years of hands-on experience in in vitro display technologies
? Proven record of successful panning and screening of display libraries
? Experience in affinity maturation of antibodies or other proteins is a plus
? Experience from a biotech/pharmaceutical R&D setting is a plus
? The ability to balance multiple priorities and timelines is expected
? Must be a team player with pro-active behavior
? Strong English written and oral communication skills
