Janssen (China) Research & Development is a multidisciplinary research team focusing on drug discovery, translational research, and early development of novel small or large molecule drug candidates based in Shanghai, China. With the increasing needs for both preclinical and clinical studies, we are seeking for a highly motivated scientist with research/clinical experiences to join us, who will be responsible for developing and executing multi-color flow cytometry (FACS) assays to support our biomarker research and joint projects with drug discovery, translational research, and early development teams. He/she will also highly involve in the development and optimization of in vitro and ex vivo immune cell-based assays. The successful candidate should have a well-established track record in bio-medical research, ideally working experience in FACS platform of pharmaceutical R&D or CRO.
Key Responsibilities
? Keep up-to-date with the trend of drug discovery in oncology and HBV.
? Design, optimize and implement FACS related assays for target validation, biomarker identification and target/drug MoA and PoC studies.
? Isolate, differentiate and conduct functional assays using mammalian cell line, primary cells and patient samples.
? Analyze, interpret and record the experimental data.
? Communicate with team members and collaborators on working progress and make appropriate reports.
? Be responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipments.
? Assist in daily lab operations.
Qualification and competency requirements
? The candidate should have a Master/PhD/MD degree in medicine, cell biology, molecular biology or a related field, preferably minimal 3 years of experiences in pre-clinical drug discovery or translational research in a pharmaceutical setting or other relevant healthcare industry.
? At least 3 years of hands-on solid experience in developing, validating and executing common oncology/immunology biomarker FACS assays including cell sorting independently is a must.
? A thorough understanding of and flow cytometry related knowledge is a must.
? Experiences in the fields of oncology and/or HBV are preferred.
? Hands on experience with cutting edge cellular and molecular technologies related to biomarker research would be a clear advantage.
? Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment.
? Good communication skills in both English and Chinese, as well as an ability to interact with collaboration partners both internally and externally.
