This position will be responsible for:
? Establishing and maintaining the technical and scientific partnership with one or more scientific functions; communicating effectively with research team leaders leveraging a thorough understanding of scientific research workflow and data flow
? Providing guidance to IT teams and business partners on translational informatics disciplines as a thought leader and subject matter expert.
? Collaborating with other IT and business units to support existing applications and methods. Accountable and responsible for resolving issues.
? Assessing new opportunities for IT solutions and utilization to further drug discovery and development efforts, and initiate projects and efforts accordingly.
? Leading business analysis and system implementation across multiple research functions. Coordinating efforts of internal stakeholders to map business requirements into technical solution and delivering results to ensure that applications meet customer requirements and exceed performance targets.
? In-depth knowledge of all areas of IT and the resources available to deliver projects, programs or manage portfolios.
? Project and portfolio management. Ability to identify and recover any troubled projects, programs and/or streamline portfolio.
? Serving as an expert resource supporting processes and technologies in translational informatics including biomarkers and genomics for Oncology, Immunology and/or Infectious Diseases programs.
? Leading the BA function for large, moderate to complex projects, programs, or initiatives across the franchise or enterprise.
? Managing relationships across all IT, legal, finance, and the impacted Business IT areas, etc.
? Working effectively as part of a team.
? 10+ years of relevant experience and BA/BS degree or equivalent OR 7+ years with advanced degree or equivalent.
? Demonstrated knowledge of informatics as applied to translational research in pharmaceutical research & development and strong business analysis skills are required.
? Minimum 5 years of experience with scientific data and research workflow management.
? Excellence in project management and business analysis; ability to make project decisions independently. Strong track record of project delivery.
? Proven stakeholder relationship management skills
? Ability to influence teams of scientific and technical specialists in a matrix organization
? Thorough understanding of research processes and scientific information
? Subject matter expert in translational informatics area including genomics, genetics, pathways and networks.
? Working knowledge of scientific research applications development cycles and infrastructure requirements.
? Familiarity with databases - SQL and NoSQL - and scripting languages
? Good documentation and presentation skills
? Self-motivated, proactive and a team player
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

? Familiarity with many big data technologies (e.g.: cloud computing, NoSQL, data lakes, elastic computing, etc.) and processes with a particular focus on their capabilities and limitations.
? In-depth knowledge of all areas of IT and the resources available to deliver projects or programs.
? Strong understanding of the current and future state technology and applications in genomics and translational informatics.
? Advanced knowledge of the business processes, data and strategic plans/initiatives of the Oncology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular and Metabolic and/or Infectious Diseases functions.
? Understanding of the business impact of different solutions, and the ability to assess and communicate the tradeoffs between business needs, technology requirements, costs, and risk.
? Understanding of departmental budgets and the ability to allocate resources accordingly.
? Understanding of the company’s strategic vision and future products, services, and strategies globally.
? Ability to identify and recover any troubled projects or programs.
? Strong expertise in translational informatics including genetics, genomics, proteomic, imaging and digital biomarkers.
? Demonstrated expertise in drug research and development by supporting scientific programs in various therapeutic areas with special emphasis on IT and informatics needs of sequencing and microarray experiments.
? Multi-lingual and cultural awareness.

? Functions very independently, receiving high-level and/or strategic guidance; able to self-direct, plan and execute initiatives (projects, programs, strategies).
? Manages business partner expectations at a senior level (up to senior director), resolving conflicts between requirements and budgets.
