Description
Medical Capabilities within [the Market/Market Clusters] includes Medical Information, Medical Content and Medical Publications. It is responsible for the provision of high quality medical scientific information about BMS medicinal products.
The primary responsibility for the Medical Communication Specialist is to lead, execute and monitor processes for Medical Content and Medical Publications on BMS medicinal products in compliance with regulations. In addition, the Specialist will ensure Market/Market Cluster team members are successfully on-boarded, and receive ongoing training/information from WW capabilities, e.g. Therapy Area meetings. The Specialist will be responsible to plan and organise regular Market/Market Cluster Capability Meetings to develop a high performing team
Medical Content:
- Maintains Medical Content in the MI system (e.g. AuthorIt, Vault) collaborating with and providing support to Medical Communication Managers
- Ensures update of product labelling in the MI system and MIOnline (self-service as well as product pages) on time.
- Collaborates with Medical Communications Managers to identify adequate Medical Content for MIOnline (self-service and product pages) and ensures correct tagging of Medical Content in the system for MIOnline for optimal customer service. Conducts regular compliance checks.
- Adheres to current BMS medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance standards, and supports compliance with regulatory requirements in the areas of Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance and Product Quality.
- Takes ownership and accountability for maintaining an up to date repository for internal department documents
- Design and create regional metrics, customer insights and activity reports for Market/Market Cluster.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor in health-related science field
- Experience within the pharmaceutical or related healthcare industry
- Good understanding of medical terminology in local language and English, as well as of the function, activities and processes of Medical Information.
- High level of competence with publication management e.g. DataVision, or other related systems, in scientific databases, text editor systems, customer relationship management systems and MS Office applications
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate relevant and important information across departments and outside of BMS in local language and English.
- Possesses excellent problem solving skills and demonstrates diplomacy in dealing with difficult situations; works effectively as a team member, utilizing contributions of other team members to complete projects.
- Demonstrated ability to share best practices and add value to a team of peers
- Publication management, communication or agency experience strongly preferred including knowledge of different phases of drug development and commercialization, good publication practices and guidance (GPP3, ICMJE), and other guidance related to post-marketing practices, scientific data communication, and transparency & conflict-of-interest environments
