Summary:
This position will:
Manage Baxter’s spending and saving data of MFG Indirect categories (including Capex, MRO and Utilities) and the project implementation. Use networking capabilities and other research and analysis techniques to determine, prioritize and source new areas of savings opportunities.
Closely collaborate with multiple functions and engineering teams of multi plants in Asia Pacific in strategic projects by coordinating the purchasing activities, negotiating terms and pricing that optimize value for Baxter.
This role would be boots in the ground to meet with local MFG Indirect suppliers and to collect MFG Indirect related data from Baxter sites that would be used for RFP activities and execute local/regional RFP’s.
Specific projects in or out of the MFG Indirect category will in the scope per Manager’s arrangement.
Main Responsibilities:
Implement or contribute to the Regional or Global Sourcing strategy of MFG Indirect including policies, procedures, and give the input to develop the best practices of MFG Indirect Sourcing with quality, cost, service and delivery objectives.
Implement or contribute to the supplier management programs for continuous improvement in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across the global supplier community, including price/cost analysis principles and procurement development programs.
Excellent and strong interest to understanding the MFG Indirect (Capex, MRO and Utilities) category – global & Regional & local markets, sourcing, contracting, budget development and providing assistance in MFG Indirect demand side with Global Facility Engineering and Local Engineering in local and regional.
Support the implementation strategy for the Supplier Quality Standard.
Coaches internal clients and stakeholders and/or provides direction on general PSM policies
Drive or coordinate the purchasing activities in the Capex, MRO and Utilities projects from strategy, policy and procedure especially for the projects cross plants with support of country/ Regional/ Corporate PSM.
Develop strong, ethical relationships with World Class suppliers and ensure that activities surrounding dealing with suppliers are conducted under the auspices of good business practices and consistent with the Baxter Code of Ethics.
Negotiates contracts, master service agreement, pricing/supply agreements, supplier managed inventory (consignment) and total cost agreements per request within dollar responsibility range and for presentation/ signature at senior level.
Key measurements of success will be built around total spend management and value add concepts, which include but is not limited to savings, spend optimization, quality, service enhancement, lead time reduction and category compliance.
Capex: MRO: Utilities = 20%:30%:50%
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree on Mechanical related with 5-7 years of purchasing experience.
Previous Experience working with Engineering or Manufacturing Services in a regulated environment.
Experience of purchasing with Capex, MRO and Utilities is a plus.
Strong communication, internal / external negotiation and contracting abilities are required.
Excellent project management, change management and influencing skills, in order to gain buy-in, support and compliance in new or previously unmanaged areas of spend.
Possess strong financial analysis abilities and excellent decision making capabilities to ensure maximum benefit for Baxter.
Strong technical purchasing skills including negotiation and contracting. High level of problem solving, prioritization and conflict management skills.
