JOB PURPOSE 工 作 目 的To lead, manage and support patent and intellectual property (IP) proceedings and prosecutions in ChinaDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES 主 要 職 責 * Lead, manage and support all aspects of IP activities in China, with a focus on IP litigation and prosecution * Lead, manage or support litigation and enforcement (judicial and administrative) actions in consultation with Global IP. * Independently lead legal team in defending/enforcing products patents * Advise, file and prosecute PCT patent applications entering the National Phase in China * Lead or direct outside council in litigation, prosecution and opinion work * Proactively provide critical IP perspective on key decision-making bodies at AZ China * Work closely with Global IP colleagues in developing and refining patent prosecution strategies, QE & SOP in view of China’s IP practice * Persistently partner, challenge and counsel BUs on opportunities to protect inventions * Timely review of and comment on assigned clinical protocols or publications * Continue professional development and contribute to development of IP colleagues * Maximize effective communication with leadership and BU colleagues * Proactively monitor, participate and contribute to IP law development.JOB REQUIREMENTS 工 作 要 求 * A law degree and a science degree in the relevant field (life sciences, chemical or pharmaceutical science) * At least 10 years of practice experience as IP attorney/counsel at a reputable IP law firm, institution or/and pharmaceutical company, with a focus on pharmaceutical IP * Expertise in local (China) patent law; in-depth understanding of Chinese legal and IP systems, patent process, documentation and national and international patent office filing systems * Proven track record in leading/second-chairing complex IP litigations * Experience in patent examination or prosecution in China; demonstrated experience in leading or second-chairing invalidation proceedings/patent enforcement actions (judicial and administrative) in China * Strong customer-service focus to build and sustain good working partnerships with key stakeholders and project teams * Effective analytical, presentation and communication skills * Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead or work independently as well as collaboratively in a team * Strong organization and time management skills with flexibility, creativity, resourcefulness to successfully prioritize and manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
